Testimonials

Over the years, I’ve worked with many wonderful families. Here’s a selection of the feedback I’ve received

…from my students

Amy has been an incredible maths tutor for me. With my dyscalculia and ADHD, I’ve often struggled to grasp basic and traditional concepts , but Amy found creative, patient, and engaging methods that really clicked for me. She never made me feel rushed or judged, and her explanations helped me see maths in a whole new way. Thanks to her, I now feel more confident and capable when answering mathematical questions.

Amy is one in a million.  She’s not just a teacher, she has great intuition about when and how to create a love of learning.  Creating confidence and enthusiasm.  She understands the need for trust and is ready to push just the right amount to get the best out of your child.

My son is autistic (PDA) with dyslexia and dysgraphia. He had been traumatised at school, he had huge anxieties and wasn’t happy with visitors in our house let alone someone come and teach him something.  However, Amy made it look easy.

Trust her to teach your children and they will fly.

I’ve been accepted into the sixth form that I wanted to go to!
...thank you so much for teaching me for probably over half my life, it’s been an absolute delight!

I like Amy as my maths tutor because she is creative and imaginative. Before I started maths with Amy I didn’t like Maths at all. I found it hard and boring.

Amy has made maths fun & interesting. I now love my times tables. My mum is surprised.
— Hettie (aged 11)
Amy teaches in a way just right for everyone. Her lessons are really fun and I feel like we often explore the deepest wonders of maths. It never gets boring. I’m always thinking about the slightest little possibility in the question. The lessons are relaxed and enjoyable. Amy does not tell you the certain way to do the question. She lets you think and question whether your answer may be correct. Although we may not get as much done it is not just a more fun way to be tutored but a more essential way of learning. We often veer off into lots of interesting conversations about the philosophy of maths. They may be random but the more the better. I find that Amy does not teach everyone the same way but in a way just right for the individual. I always come out of her lessons in a different world of maths not knowing the goings on around me.

…from their parents

Amy has been teaching Leo maths for just over a year now, initially in a small group and now online one to one. We feel very lucky to have found her. She teaches maths in a way that is very engaging to young children. The sessions are full of interesting manipulatives, which really bring meaning to the numbers. I have found Amy to be excellent at assessing Leo’s level of understanding and pitching her teaching in a way that is really engaging to him. She is also quite astute in understanding a child’s personality and excellent at following their interests and teaching through these. Leo always looks forward to maths club with Amy as the sessions are always fun and engaging. I can see and feel Leo’s mathematical understanding developing at a pace that is right for him and meaningful to him. Amy has a unique approach, which has allowed this purposeful development of Leo’s mathematical understanding and we are very grateful to have found her.

I’m a home educating Mum & maths phobe. Which meant I needed to find someone to teach my children maths & help them enjoy it.

Amy has been brilliant. Neither of my children find maths easy, but both now enjoy it & are making good progress. My son is Autistic with learning difficulties & Amy has been very creative in her methods to keep him engaged. Both children come out of their lessons smiling & feeling confident about themselves.

I can’t recommend Amy highly enough.
