The Practicalities
Online sessions
All sessions are online, via Zoom. I screenshare to various resources and the learner and I can both use the tools on Zoom to write and draw.
I take time to I often use the virtual manipulatives and other tools on Polypad, a ‘virtual mathematical playground’, alongside many other online games and resources.
For GCSE prep, I make frequent use of past exam papers and exam style questions from CorbettMaths and MathsGenie.
I am happy to make suggestions about activities learners can do in between sessions. For younger learners, this often takes the form of games they can play with the rest of the family. For older learners, it might include practicing exam-style questions or past exam papers, that we go onto look over together during the next session
My rates
Sessions typically range in length from 30 minutes to an hour and in frequency from one to three times a week, depending on the individual needs and goals of the learner.
My standard rate is £40 per hour, with shorter lessons charged pro rata:
30 minutes – £20
45 minutes – £30
I also offer a discount for full hour bookings at £36 per hour. This applies to:
1-hour lessons with the same student
1-hour slots split between siblings (i.e. two 30-minute sessions)
Cancellations
I ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a session for any reason. If you are unable to give me this notice, I will generally charge the full cost of the session.
